Just a little update!

I went to my doctors appointment yesterday. Everything looked good. The ultrasound technicians sent over my report and they really had weird dates. For some reason they had my due date November 1 and also October 25, which none of those are right. It's October 22, which all the other ultrasounds have confirmed. Weird. So, I won't be listening to those dates that is for sure! My doctor did an internal exam and found that the baby is sitting right there. She said, "Oh my! Your baby is very low, I can feel it! And your cervix is soft." So that scared me! She said I really need to take it easy these next couple of weeks because we don't want this baby coming too soon. She said that she would be surprised to see me make it to the end of October, but would be happy if I made it another 2 weeks. So I am just to laze around the house and take it easy... I think I can handle that! (It's 10:15 am, I just woke up and am still in my p.j.'s. I'm doing great!).

I have a horrible cold right now, which totally sucks because you can't take anything for it. BRUTAL! I can't sleep in the same room as James because it gets too stuffy so I end up sleeping on the couch. I am fine with that and I do find that I don't tend to roll around as much. I hate sleeping, I haven't had a good sleep in a month and it looks like I will never have a good sleep in the next 10 years! But soon I will have a little girl to keep me company at night... how precious!

Well, I should really get going here! Maybe clean up around the house today since I am suppose to take it easy. Might has well take it easy in a clean house! Hope everyone has a good day!

IT'S A GIRL!

I'm sure you all new that there was no way I could keep a secret this exciting for that long! We found out yesterday that we are having a little girl! When we went into the ultrasound room the technician put the scope thing on my belly and I said to her RIGHT AWAY "we aren't opposed to finding out". Well, she said within a 1/2 a second "okay, it's a girl!". Good thing I wasn't joking when I said we weren't opposed, because it all happened too fast. But we were VERY excited after a little shock wore off. We thought it was a boy all along! I have had no inclinings that it would be a girl, but those little angels can sure surprise you!

Yesterday afternoon I went shopping with my grandma. She bought me a new housecoat for my birthday and new slippers. They are going to be so nice when I'm in the hospital and then later at home. Also, I had a gift certificate for Gap Baby so I was VERY happy to spend that on cute little pink outfits for her! I got the cutest little pink sweatpants and little tops to match. Plus Great Grandma Sharon couldn't resist picking up this really cute jumper for her to wear to church. She will be loved :)

Well in 32 days (give or take) we will be welcoming Sommer Lyn into the McCullough family. I can't wait to meet this little angel that has been growing inside of me. I love her more than words can say!

Growing so big!

Hey There Everyone! We had our ultrasound today :) VERY EXCITING NEWS! We found out what we are having, so start guessing! I will put up the pictures. What a cutie! Chubby cheeks and big lips.... The baby is tipping the scale at 4 lbs and 11 oz. Only 33 days left!!!

So Tired!

Hello Everyone

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of days. Hard to believe it has been a week since I sat down here and typed out what I was thinking! These days just seem to fly bye and I am more tired than ever. How will I ever manage with a newborn if I can barely keep my head up with 5 weeks to go. I'm sure I will survive and be running on pure "love". I have decided that I am pretty much done work as of now. I get drained too easily, which is not good. I worked today for a couple of hours and bye the time I was done I could only think of crawling into bed, and it was only 6:00 pm. One weird thing is I think I am coming down with something. I got this cold sore and my ears hurt.... weird. I will just have to keep an eye on it and let doctor T know next week if I'm not feeling better.

James just turned on our furnace! Can you believe that?? Were did my favorite season go, Summer please come back. I miss you! Well, it's now into Autumn, probably the most beautiful season of the year. I love the colours and the leaves, but I always feel that with Autumn comes Winter... my least favorite. Autumn also brings my birthday, which is sort of a big deal in my books. Also, it brings my baby! HURRAY! I am not ready for the furnace to be turned on. Especially since I am HOT all the time. I should get a little fan for my side of the bed!

This morning I started attending a Wednesday morning bible study at the church. It's a Beth Moore study on The Patriarchs. I have never done a real bible study before and I am excited to meet with the ladies. I met a new young mom at church on Sunday (well, I met her a couple weeks ago but really got talking last week) so I invited her to come with me. I'm glad she did, once again another connection made, a new friend! So fun!

Well I'm all tucked into bed so I should run here! I'll type again when I find some more energy!

Royal LePage Baby Shower!

Today at noon was our Co-Ed Baby Shower at work for James and I & Jim and Shauna! It was such a fun time! We got some amazing gifts for the baby, enjoyed good food and had fun with my co-workers. Shauna is due September 25, just shy of one month ahead of me. I have had a lot of fun getting to know her over the past couple of months as we have taken Prenatal Yoga and Prenatal aquasize classes together. Our little ones can play together as they get older! Thanks to everyone who was involved with the shower! It was so much fun :)

Rockin' the night away... soon!

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!! I convinced James that I NEEDED that rocking chair from Sears and last night we went and picked it up. It's a little large for the room, but it is going to work well. I can't wait for a little baby to rock in the that chair all night. It matches perfectly too! It is so comfortable, but my feet dont touch the ground. Oh well, that's what the ottoman is for.

In other news my parents bought James and I a webcam! They are such excited grandparents. So now they can see the baby when it comes and I can show them my belly every day. I have already had a great chat with my sister over webcam, oh technology! My brother has one in England, my sister has one in Bellingham, my parents have one in Portland, and my brother's girlfriend has one in Victoria! We are one connected family. It's great because we can chat over it too, so it's like a telephone!

Today my office is throwing me and my friend Shauna (her boyfriend works with me) a baby shower at noon. So I should really get ready and head on over. The webcam distracted me all morning, haha.

Welcome to Fall my friends!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend! Last long weekend of the summer, how sad. I hate it when summer has to come to an end, since it is my favorite season. There is nothing like the nice weather that comes with summer, and soon us Saskatchewan people will be pulling out our sweaters and jeans, how depressing!!! James and I went out to the lake for the last time this season on Saturday and Sunday. Pretty much the entire family was there (minus Greg and Amanda, we missed you guys!) so it made for a lot of noise. Those McCullough's are not quiet people, haha. But over all it was a good time :) Yesterday James and I did some house cleaning (okay, I cleaned and James napped) and then we worked on the nursery. We put up the glass shelf and glass mirriors we bought at Ikea. Today I am going to go and look for some curtains and soon we will be all finished!!!!

Also, yesterday James and I went looking for rocking chairs. I feel IN LOVE with one at Sears Clearance and I have to think of a way to get it. James says it's a little pricey (okay, it is) but I HAVE TO HAVE IT! It's a glider (just like I wanted) that is the same green as the nursery and the arms go out to the side a little more than the other ones. That will make it easier for nursing because I won't be too squished in it. Even James had plenty of room in it. I will get that chair, mark my words. HAHA! I LOVE IT!

We have finalized our baby names now. Pretty exciting to have that nailed down. Now hopefully we don't see our little one and go, "He's/ She's not a ______". That would really screw us up considering how long it took us to pick them!!! I will leave you in suspense and you can guess what they are.

Not much else is new around here. Pretty boring in our end of the world. We went out and looked at our new lot yesterday too. Things are coming along. The roads are in place (in dirt) and everything is staked so you can tell where things are suppose to be. The lots aren't clearly numbered or defined so we took a guess where we think our lot will be. Pretty exciting!!! Now if only everything were moving that fast on our house. We are still waiting for our plans because the building is very backed up, looks like it will be another month before we get them. Oh well, what's another month? We do have 10 months until our possession date, haha.

Well, I should get running here and start my day. Hope everyone has a wonderful September 4th! I just can't believe it's September already. Where has the time gone. I HAVE MY BABY NEXT MONTH! AHHHHHHHH!!!!

33 weeks!

• This week my baby weighs a little over 4 lbs!
• It has passed the 17 inch mark (CRAZY!)
• It is rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening.
• The bones in its skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap,this making it easier for it to fit through the birth canal.
• These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as its brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Transition Time...

Summer is starting to wind up here and it is very sad. I always feel like it is a time of transition over the long weekend, with people heading back to where they are suppose to be for the fall and winter months. But James and I stay put, watching friends leave. How sad.

Last night we said good bye to our good friends the Durance's. They are moving to Winnipeg today. They were pretty much our only friends who had children, and one was only 5 months old, so it would have been perfect for the coming year. Now we have no friends at our stage of life, parenthood. How lonely. There are no young couples in our church who are having babies, atleast none that I know of (please correct me if I am wrong). There are actually hardly any young married couples at all, and I wonder why that is.... James and I are starting to feel a little alone and are wishing for some young couples to connect with. There seems to be more young couples moving away than coming into our lives. Friends are something that I have began praying for, so feel free to join with me.

I should get going with my day here. Seems like the house is always a mess when you have company over. I never feel like cleaning up after they have left... so I must do this now. Have a wonderful day everyone!
