What's in a name anyways.....

Yesterday in the mail I got this really cool Sales Kit now that I am registered with Royal LePage. I got this really nice leather binder (with my name engraved on it), a name tag (with my name on it) and a pen (with my name on it)..... the only problem was that my name was spelt WRONG!!!!! How sad is that? Oh well, from now on you can spell my last name: McCullogh........

Missing Keys

This morning I was ready to go to work on time, but when I went to grab my keys they were gone! Missing! Stolen! I remember bringing them into the house last night and placing them on the kitchen table... but then they vanished! Let's take this story a little ways back.... to last week:

James hates it when I have too many keys on one ring. He always asks me if I can tell him what each key does, and I can. I also had this cool red keychain from my office. I liked it so I put it on the chain. But then James used my keys one day and complained the whole time about this large key chain. So I took it off........ and that's where the problem begins.

So after running around the house like a banchee (sp?) for 10 minutes, and getting extrememly over heated in my new wool winter jacket, I called James to ask him if he saw my keys before he left this morning. He said, "I don't know where your keys are. Why would I know?". So I hung up, called my boss and said I would be late. My grandma was nice enough to drive me to work, and when I got here I apologized to Mike for being late.

I took apart my purse, searching in all the random pockets for my missing keys. You see, I am the only one who can keep the door unlocked at work... and I had it propped up with a peice of wood! After dumping out my purse, and almost breaking down in tears over my lost keys, the phone rang:

Me: Good morning Royal LePage!
James: What are you doing?
Me: Looking for my keys!
James: I found them.
Me: WHERE!?
James: In my pocket.
Me: WHAT???? You said, "Why would I have your keys???"
James: Well, you took that stupid red thing off them and so I thought they were mine.
Me: THAT'S WHY I HAD THAT RED THING ON THERE TO BEGIN WITH!
James: Well. Now what?
Me: You need to bring them to me so I can unlock the door.
James: Well not today.
Me: Yes, I need them.
James: How Soon?
Me: Before lunch
James: Fine.
Me: Thanks sweetheart, don't worry about taking my keys. I forgive you. I know you didn't mean too, I love you.

(HAHA!! DID YOU REALLY THINK I SAID THAT LAST LINE???)

Anyway, my keys are found and hopefully being returned to me soon. The drama of today is OVER! Until tomorrow......

Pizza Hut Buffet

Met James for lunch at HIS favorite restaurant... Pizza Hut, for the Pizza Hut Lunch Buffet. I am not one for buffets because I never feel like I get my money's worth. But I love to people watch at Buffet restaurants.

Today Pizza Hut did not let me down. Our local Pizza Hut is just 1 minute from our house, located at the East End of Regina. There are many different types of people who frequent our Pizza Hut and today people of all types were there. I love the MAD dash for the buffet when new pizza's come out. Or the mother's who constant peek over at the buffet and then send their small child up to LOAD UP on pizza slices, often stacking 10 slices on one plate for the whole family. But who could tell a young 4 year old that they took too many pizza's, so they get away with cleaning out the fresh pies.

Today this one fella, who obviously was not going hungry or has been hungry in a while, cleaned out a fresh pizza and then yelled to the staff that they needed to make more pizza's. You meet the greediest people at a buffet and you constantly feel tense because you want the same slice as the person in front of you! Everyone stocks up on pizza slices like there is going to be a natural disaster.... each person taking way more than they need incase a fresh pizza is not available when they finish what's on their plate. Don't even get my started on the bread sticks! Maybe it's because they are so small and easy to grab. But they go like money.

All I know is I love Pizza Hut and Nuthin' But!

WHO READS THIS BLOG????

I am always so surprised when I sign onto this blog how many people read it!!! WHO THE HECK ARE YOU??? When I started this blog I thought that I would maybe have my family read it, so that would maybe be on average 10 people. But to my surprise, around 15 people read this a day! That's just great. But now I feel the pressure to write amusing and creative blogs and not just random ones. But hopefully you are enjoying what I type so far.

Would you please do me a favor? Please leave me a comment (even just a comment with your name) on this blog article if you read this. I would just LOVE to know who you are... Plus, I know every time someone reads this because my "counter" at the bottom goes up. So please do that for me! I would be so excited to see your name. Then I could maybe include a personal note to you in my blog.....

You mystery people are so great! Thanks so much!

Random Summer Pics

These are some random summer pictures..... Thought I would add a personal touch on here!

Random Stuff

Sorry I didn't have a chance to update you yesterday. It was a busy day for some reason. I just didn't have time stop and write or creep on other people's blogs.....

Today I am very tired. Yesterday evening was the first time I realized how tired the winter makes me. In summer or spring, when it is light until 10:00 pm, I feel like I have so much energy. But when the days get shorter I feel like I should go to bed earlier. Yesterday at 7:00 pm Sammy and I went to Old Navy and I felt like I should be hitting the old sack!

Tonight I am getting my hair cut! I am going to get it like Elizabeth's off The View. Just above my shoulders and with bangs. Tara is such a good stylist, I know she will make it look amazing. My hair is too long now, I put it up in a PonyTail almost every day now because it drives me nuts. I hate long hair in the fall or winter because it is so heavy and sticky......

Well, I might write again later. I am too tired to right now because James and I stayed up late (11 pm) watching America's Next Top Model. 2 hour season primere! Tonight is the Season Primere for CSI: Las Vegas! HURRAY! (Don't forget at the end of the season last year Sarah was seen in Gill's room....)

Doctor's Appointment

I'M NOT PREGNANT!
(Just wanted to get that out of the way before any of you, especially Tim,
start thinking that I am having a baby!)

I just got back from my follow up with my doctor (about my MIGRAIN!). I hate going to the doctors because I don't feel like they give me the time I deserve. There are always 20 other people waiting to see the same doctor, all thinking their symptoms are more important than everyone elses, and the doctors are always atleast 30 mins behind schedule. I would love a private doctor who spends atleast 15 minutes with me and actually cares about me...

Today I left work, telling Margit that I should only be a half hour, and raced over the Dr. T's office. I waited in the UGLY waiting room (it seriously is in need of a MAJOR reno) and read the Sept. issue of Oprah Mag. While I was waiting for Dr. T these women came in with itty bitty newborn babies. See, Dr. T is not just a family Doc but she is also a OBGYN!!! That means there is always newbees when I go to the Doctor's Office!!! They are so tiny and cute and bunchy (they are always bunched right up in their sleepers) and I WANT ONE!!

On the bright side I did find out my bloodtype. I have joined the millions of A+ people in the world!

Happy September 18

Today is the 261st day of the year, with 104 days remaining (I think that adds up...). Hard to believe! This past year has been a wonderful year for me. I have many things to be thankful for and many things to still look forward to.

Today I am freezing cold. Yesterday at church I was freezing cold. WHY IS IT SO DANG COLD? I felt bad for the flowers that were outside in my nice pots so I brought the ones that I could carry inside to the sunroom. I asked James to carry the big pots inside but he said no. He said it was not necessary... but I know it was! I was so sad looking at those flowers outside in the cold, while the ones I could carry got to come inside into the nice warm sunroom. To being the nice and caring person I am covered the outside flowers up with a blanket. I don't know why James wouldn't carry them inside, it only would have taken a minute!

This week was a movie marathon for me! Friday night I watched Glory Road, Saturday I watched Glory Road again with James since he fell asleep the first time, and yesterday I watched Father of the Bride II (for the 100th time) & Cheaper by the Dozen! WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO ME?? I use to hate watching movies and now I can't get enough of them. Do you recommend any movies for me to watch? Let me know!

My grandparents get home sometime this week. Probably either today or tomorrow. It will be sad not having our own house again. I really was starting to like having my own place again. It's always different when you know you are in someone else's house. Lexis will be happy to have Libby back home and go for a walk each morning.

I really want to get another puppy so Lexis can have a baby sister. I would name the puppy Mercedes, so we would have Lexis & Mercedes... TOO CUTE!!! I will have to start bugging James for a baby puppy, maybe a white lab so I will have a black one & a white one! I could probably get another puppy out of James if I tell him I want a baby... Puppy's are way easier than babies.

Lazy Saturday

Today has been a cleaning day. My grandparents (who we live with until our new house is finished) have been gone for the past 2.5 weeks and come home around Monday. So today I did a complete scrub down of the house... cleaned the kitchen, bedrooms, vaccummed, stuff like that. I do this regularily but with 2 men (haha) in the house it seems like the cleaning never ends. I could probably live on my own and never have to clean the house, but with Sammy and James I am constantly cleaning up. I will have the kitchen clean and by the time I turn around there are dirty dishes and cups sitting on the counter! It drives me nuts.

Last night I watched another movie, Glory Road. Great Walt Disney movie! It is about a basketball team in the south when the African American population were not respected. I love movies like this, it reminds me of how far we have come (or how far we still have to go). My favorite part of the movie is when a coach tells another coach that Black people willl never be playing professional basketball, they just are not that good. It made me laugh because look at the NBA, I bet most of the players are Black, and they are dang good, if not amazing!

Tonight James said he wants to bake some cookies. I can not remember the last time I baked cookies. In my old house I could never get the oven to work right.... I have had so many friends come and look at my oven but no one knows what is wrong with it. It is a brand new convectional, flat top, ceramic oven... but it's crazy. This one time it took me 2.5 hrs to bake a friggen cake! Right when we moved I was starting to get along with the oven so I decided to take it to the new house, so I will keep you posted on how it works better when I hook it up. Maybe it will work, or maybe not. (P.s. - I am in need of a new fridge, if you know of where I can get one please let me know.)

Well I should go and creep on some other people's blogs. Have a wonderful Saturday night friends!

James Lipton's Questions

During the last fifteen minutes of every episode of Inside the Actor's Studio, James Lipton asks each actor the same ten questions. Here are my answers:

1) What is your favourite word? Respect

2) What is your least favourite word? Destroy

3) What turns you on? Being sincere, open and honest

4) What turns you off? Hypocracy

5) What sound or noise do you love? The jingling of Lexis' dog collar when I can't see her

6) What sound or noise do you hate? ALARM CLOCK!

7) What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Movie Star or Television Personality

8) What profession other than your own would you not like to attempt? Crab fisherman or Garbage woman

9) What is your favourite curse word? I don't usually say real curse words... I only like using fake ones.... (that sounds dumb).

10) If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say to you when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? "Well done my good and faithful servant".

Weather & Survivor

SUMMER IS OVER!!! This morning I woke up, got dressed and ready for work, walked out the door and turned right around to grab a fleece. WHAT HAPPENED TO SUMMER??? Did you know we had the hottest summer on record since 1998? And look, fall is going to quickly turn into winter. I am not impressed one bit!

This last couple of days have been really quiet here in the office. Noone is around because a lot of our agent went to a conference in BC. The only ones who stayed behind are the rookies and us office staff so we are having a relaxing week with the big shots gone. My agent friend Mary, a very loud but funny lady, called and said she made some homemade borche and she is bringing some over for Margit (the other office gal) and I to have for lunch. MMMMmmmm..... This afternoon will be another slow pm because Margit is leaving to nurse her bf back to health after his knee operation. That means it might only be me in this large office....

There was so many things I wanted to do before my boss got back. I wanted to pain my front reception area for example! Mike, my boss/broker, said I could paint it because it's an ugly colour. Infact I don't know why every office I go to has this colour because it's the same colour as the church walls! So I was thinking that I might paint it a chocolate brown, something to add some warmth. But it looks like I ran out of time, so that will be another week's project.

Survivor was a good episode last night, the first one. I for one like how the teams are set up (according to ethnicity). I think this adds some drama and is funny. My favorite team is the caucasion team, not because I am white, but because they lost their chickens!! They were so proud of these chickens and then the alternative girl accidently lifted up the crate and they ran away! HAHA! Serves them right for stealing the Asians' chickens. Also that Exhile Island looks like a horrible place to be. That poor guy has to stay there for 2 days!! I think he needs to take the clue way more serious though. Here is how I think the clue can be broken: He needs to stand like he was making an "A" with the ship, watch for a south Isle (small Island) to fade away and then he will find the treasure! IT'S NOT THAT HARD!! I wonder if anyone will figure it out?

Well, I should get back to work... later friends

Movie Nights

I'm feeling much better today, I am back at work. Yesterday was a pretty boring day of watching TV, making some taco salad, and playing with Lexis. James and I did go on a little date last night, to the wonderful Java Express. I love that "Neighbourhood Cafe". I love going on little dates, and that was a spur of a moment one, which are the best. After that we went home and watched a movie together. We watched Friday Night Lights. Good movie. James did like how it was shot, close up to the faces and kind of shaky. Tonight I think we will watch another sports movie, but I forget the name. Movies are my new favorite things. Here are the movies I have watched since last weekend:

  • Drumline (LOVE IT!)
  • Walk the Line (Good)
  • Friday Night Lights (Good)
  • .... I think that's it......

Ill let you know how my movie is tonight.

I have no great things to tell you today. Since I am recooperating (please ignore my bad spelling if it's not spelt right). I am very tired today and would love to be in bed watching another movie!

Emergency Room last Night

Hi Friend

Sorry that I didn't blog yesterday. It was a crazy day/night. Yesterday afternoon while I was working my right eye kind of went blind!!! I had to wear my sunglasses in the office, it was pretty scary. I went home and decided to needed to lie down because my head was starting to throb... well by the 7:30 pm I was in the worst pain that I have ever been in. I could not have any lights on in the house. Any light at all hurt myeyes. All in all I ended up in the emergency room, with high blood pressure and a tempeture, and they took me right in. Right away I was put on an IV, and later on I had my blood work done. I was getting anxious to go home by around 11:30 pm because the medicine had kicked in. But the doctor wanted to do a CT Scan. I declined the CT Scan (because I had just met someone who had been waiting since 2 pm to get the results back) but promised to return in the morning if I still had a headache.

This morning I woke up feeling better. My head is groogy, but it does not hurt. I think it was just a migrane, but it was the worst pain I had ever been in. My wonderful friends at work gave me the day off to recoperate, so that is what I am doing.

9/11... We Remember

You blog readers are hungry this morning for my thoughts! Forget that I have nothing to say at all or that my mind is blank, you want something!

Can you believe that it has been 5 years since the World Trade Centre attacks happened in New York City? I can remember being the first to wake up in our house 5 years ago, turning on the radio and hearing the morning DJ say a plane had crashed into the world trade center building. I ran upstairs and told my dad we were going to war, little did I know.

We watched the television all morning. Our eyes glued to what was happening in downtown Manhattan. Our home-ec teacher let us keep the TV on during sewing class. Then the second tower fell. The rubbel, papers, building material all came falling down... people running in all directions.

I heard this story once, I am not sure if it is fact or fiction, about this business man in regina who was on a video conference with a company who worked in the world trade center building. The Regina man saw the plane coming towards them in the window and yelled at them that a plane was coming, and then it crashed. Can you imagine what that poor man was thinking.... Who does stuff like that?

5 years later, look where we are. A war is raging on the other side of the world. The USA will not back down, yet keep spending money they don't have. They send young men & women over to fight a war on a terrorism, but at who's expense. I am a proud American... but I think many people are beginning to see a different side of the US gov't. Why are they spending billions/trillions of money on war, yet have not even helped the people who suffered in their own country from the Hurricans?

But today we remember those affected by 9/11, you are not forgotten.

Life

Time flys,
fast.
Things change,
quickly.

Been married for 2 yrs,
I feel old.
Lexis is 2,
14 in dog years.

Would love a baby,
not for a while.

I miss my family,
mom and dad come nov. 9
Looking forward to Christmas,
It's my christmas!

Love my new job,
stepped out of my christian bubble.

I like church again,
good to be back in the groove.
I like the people there,
they keep me accountable.

Lexis sees herself on the computer,
she jumped at the screen and barked at it.

She is smart,
she learned to open the screeen door.
She likes to escape,
we find her in the front yard.

Regina will be lonely again now,
the friends have returned to their normal cities.
Summer is weird that way,
things feel normal for 3 months,
but really it's not normal at all.

Can't believe how much times flys,
and how quickly things can change.

Nancy and I were talking,
she said sometimes she wishes she was a kid again.
I feel that way too sometimes,
when I think of all the things I am responsible for now.

When you are a kid you have no worries,
mom and dad worry for you.
I can remember my dad saying once
"we are going to move to the poor house",
that's they only time I ever thought about worrying.
But I knew he was kidding.

How quickly time flies,
keep your eyes open....
you don't want to miss life.

Weekend Blogging

Why does no one blog on a Sunday? It's like the blog world does not exhist at all on weekends, we are a Monday - Friday world. I think it is because many people blog at work to waste time, maybe that's what I do....

Tim says I should blog on weekends, so I will give it a try. Not much stuff that is exciting happens on the weekends though. So maybe this won't be that exciting. Let's see what I did this weekend:

  1. Slept in till 12:30 pm yesterday
  2. Sat around the house
  3. "Surfed the web"
  4. Attempted to study for my course but got VERY frustrated with the tax and mortgage questions
  5. Watched the movie "Walk the Line", good movie. I love happy endings
  6. Rented Pizza

Today I have:

  1. Gone to church
  2. Had the church BBQ
  3. Went to Superstore
  4. Bought Jackson a birthay present
  5. Now I am waiting to go to the birthday party.

Pretty boring weekend....

Blogging like Rosie

Rosie blogs like this
let me try it out.
Short and sweet
straight to the point.

Met a Mounty yesterday,
came from New Foundland.
He likes to drink,
lots of Newfy's do.
He had a strong accent,
I want an accent now.

What should my accent be?
I think I will make one up.
My sister has the same accent for every country,
She always sounds East Indian.
It's great.

Going to a spa party tonight.
I love Spa Parties.
I'm nervous because I don't know anyone.
My biggest fear is being alone.
I'm also scared of spiders.

Sammy went home for the weekend.
He totalled the car on the way home.
Hit a deer,
poor deer (and Sammy).

Sammy also broke his cell phone.
I gave him mine.
Now I have a new Razor phone.
It's cute.

Just got some pics from Lyn.
I miss summer already.
I'll post some pictures.
Later.

Fingerprinting Today!

Today I finally did something that I had been putting off for some time now. I went down to the police office and got fingerprinted. Don't freak out, I didn't committ a crime or anything, I have to get this done for becoming a Real Estate Agent! Here is how the procedure works.

I plugged the meter and then walked up to the Station. Checked in with the gaurd and then made my way up to the second floor. There I talked to this man who sounded like Napoleon Dynamite, seriously! So they took all my I.D. and then told me to wait till an officer was ready. I kind of felt weird sitting in this waiting area. I felt like I had done something wrong, this sense of guilt came over me! Finally they told me that an officer was waiting down the hall.

I walked down the hall and into this small room. This room was all metal (why are most rooms in police stations metal and cold) and it was very "unfriendly." The nice man (Sgt. Wallace) introduced himself and stood up to shake my hand. I opened my mouth and said "Sir, you are SO TALL!!!". He told me he was 6'10", a giant! I am only 5'1", so I looked like a midget to him! But he was nice and rolled my fingers in ink and told me how to make them loose so he could roll them properly.

When this was all done I asked him if criminals come to this room to get fingerprint. He said that they did and then went on to tell me about all the crazy sick people who had sat in the exact chair I was sitting in. I definetly used the Anti-bacterial gel when I was done in that room!!!!! I still feel like I caught something sitting in that room and touching the counter.

All in all it was a great, fun learning experience. Thanks to Sgt. Wallace for a good time and good stories but I hope I won't see you again soon.

Canadian Idol

Well.... I didn't see that one coming!

I have been watching Canadian Idol, like any true Canadian should, and what happened last night shocked me! The final three Idols (Eva, Craig, and Tyler from SK) all were singing the Standards style of music. Eva did amazing as always, Tyler also did great but Craig was not good at all! I think most people thought that Craig would be going home last night, in fact, I think even Craig thought he was going home. But then Ben announced that Tyler was going home!!
WHAT HAPPENED CANADA!!???

I am not saying that Tyler should have won the show, because I think that Eva will win hands down. But Craig??? Tyler was clearly better. I even phoned in 2x to get some votes in for Tyler, but still some how Craig beat him.

To Tyler:

You had a great run and I think that you should have been in the final "dog fight"... but I know you will still have some sort of career and I will download your songs onto my ipod.

Summer Ending

WOW!

Isn't hard to believe that summer is pretty much (or basically is) over! It's hard to believe it is already Sept. 5.... that means 1 month till my birthday!!! This year I had an excellent summer. I got to go and see my parents in June, started a new job in July, went boating and camping in August... we were busy! I always love summer, it's my favorite season. I just feel good in summer! I love reading on the deck or playing in the backyard with Lexis. Summer is just amazing!

Now comes fall, another season that I like but it is probably my third favorite season (Summer being first and Spring being second). But fall is good because we have my birthday and Thanksgiving, two very important occassions. I love the colours of fall, especially with the fields here in Saskatchewan. And Thanksgiving means you can EAT, and EAT, and EAT! MMMmmm....

But soon Fall turns into my least favorite season... WINTER! Last year was my first winter that I didn't mind. I rode my first snowmobile and even did a skiing excursion. The snowmobile was quiet fun, I enjoyed it. Lexis even rode on it and then had fun chasing the mobile on the ice.

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend, probably the last one of the summer. Before we know it Christmas will soon be here!

Happy Birthday Mom!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Today is my mom's 47th (Shhh!) Birthday! My mom lives in Vancouver Washington, so I will not have the pleasure of celebrating it with her... I wish I could!

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday Mom! I love you :)
