Stone fever has hit me hard, especially for someone who didn't know any of their songs 5 days ago! But, I am now feeling what many Regina citizens felt when they purchased their tickets a couple of months ago. Maybe it is due to the fact that the Leader-Post has had a count down for the past 100 (or more) days and this week they have had special features in their paper. Each morning I find myself reading articles on the stones and thinking "Man, these guys have been around forever." This morning was no different, the Leader-Post had a full Stones section, with 2 pages dedicated to Stone Trivia! (Which I took and didn't know a single answer out of the 100 questions... but hey, I am a new fan.) Some interesting tidbits are:
- The Rolling Stones were formed in 1962
- Mick and Keith met in Elementary School (HOW CUTE!)
- In 1977 Keith was arrested in Toronto for possession of heroin, cocaine, and hashish
- Mick played Basketball in High School
- Mick has been married 2 times
- Ron and his wife have been together since 1970's (29 years)
There were more trivia questions (94 Q's infact) but a lot of them were gross or about records (and I was not even alive in the record age) so I skipped those.
The stones will be a great show tonight, you are not allowed to bring a camera, purse, outsiede food or beverage of any kind, chairs/strollers/umbrellas, firworks, narcotics of any kind (unless they are prescribed and in the container marked with the item and the name of the holder), knives (including pocket knives), chains or weapons of any nature, no bikes, skateboards, roller blades, heely shoes or scooters. Just you, a coat and cash to blow on a Stones t-shirt, which will mostly likely become a shirt you wear only for sleeping in.
